Below is a list of some of the events, collection sites, corporate donations and groups aimed at offering relief for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Contributors should donate to groups they trust. Where possible, we've included phone numbers or Web site addresses.

Collection Calendar

Today

"The Biggest Slumber Party in Texas": 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., JMS Group, 1663 First Ave. S., St. Petersburg. A collection drive to benefit children of Hurricane Katrina displaced to Texas.

Carwash: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., $5 minimum donation, 845 Fourth St. N., St. Petersburg. Call Scott Palacheck, (727) 518-4776, to volunteer, sponsor or donate supplies.

"Love Not Money": 8 p.m., Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse, 4819 E. Busch Blvd. A benefit concert to raise nonperishable food, clean clothing or blankets for victims. Local musicians will perform until 2 a.m. Featured performers include Michele Agius, Orenda, Lush Progress, Stacy Halter, Geri X and Michael Giglio. Call (813) 983-0837.

Radio-athon: WQBN, 1300 AM, 5203 N. Armenia Ave. Spanish radio station La Super "Q" is accepting water, nonperishable food, clothing and money for the American Red Cross through Monday.

Carwash: 9 a.m., Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate's Carrollwood office, 11801 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. Money will go to the American Red Cross.

St. Pete Times Forum: Until 3 p.m., 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa. Donations are being accepted in the McDonald's Box Office on the Chrysler-Jeep Plaza.

Sunday

Salon La Bella: Free haircuts, noon to 4 p.m., Eastshore Plaza, 1717 State Road 60 E., Valrico. Minimum $10 donation. Call (813) 651-0733.

Atomic Tattoos and Body Piercing: Sunday, all proceeds from tattoos and body piercings will be donated to the American Red Cross. Call (813) 875-4440.

Love's Hair Salon: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., also Sept. 18, 1335 W. Brandon Blvd., Suite D. Stylists from J.L. Salon, Utopia Salon and Cascades Salon will donate their time. All proceeds from beauty and massage services will be donated to the American Red Cross. Call (813) 681-4247.

Tuesday

"An Evening of Entertainment and Remembrance": 7 p.m., silent auction at 6:30 p.m., Howard W. Blake High School for the Performing Arts, 1701 N. Boulevard. The benefit cabaret-style showcase will feature poetry readings, songs, dance and drama. Call (813) 272-3422.

Thursday

Friday

Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church: Donations accepted from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 17, 304 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace.

Upcoming

Tropicana Field parking lot: Roadmaster Drivers School will accept donations Sept. 17. Instructors will be driving loaded trucks Sept. 18 and 19 to areas hit by the hurricane.

Mardi Gras Party: 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., Sept. 17, L.A. Hangout, 16411 N. Florida Ave., Lutz. Cingular wireless has agreed to match all donations. Donated supplies welcome.

"An International Show of Support": 3 to 7 p.m., Sept. 18, $10, the International Bazaar at Centro Ybor, 1600 E. Eighth Ave. Centro Ybor and its merchants will be accepting canned goods and cash donations.

A La Carte Event Pavilion: Sept. 27, 4050 Dana Shores Drive, Tampa. PEAK Connections Inc. is collecting supplies and donations at its job fair. Visit www.floridacareerlink.com/event. It is also donating 5 percent of its revenue to victims.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays: Oct. 2, "Shirts Off Our Back," annual promotion, will benefit hurricane victims.

Ongoing

The Patel Conservatory: Assisting Tampa Unity Church and Congregation Schaarai Zedek in collecting nonperishable food items. Those interested in donating may bring supplies to the main doors of the conservatory from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

United Food Bank and Services: Collecting supplies for Gulfport and Biloxi, Miss., areas. Nonperishable foods, diapers, baby formula, feminine products, toiletries, men's and women's underwear, and men's socks are needed. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. 712 E. Alsobrook St., Suite 9, just east of James L. Redman Parkway. Call (813) 764-0625.

Barney's Motorcycle and Marine: Accepting donations through September at Barney's Motorcycle and Marine, 10411 Gandy Blvd., St. Petersburg, and Barney's of Brandon, 9820 Adamo Drive, Tampa.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays: Monetary donations are being accepted at Tropicana Field gates 1, 4 and 5 during every home game in September.

Amscot Financial: Company will cash aid checks from official aid agencies involved in hurricane relief at no charge and with no holds. The service covers checks payable to evacuees from the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Federal Emergency Management Agency and any other governmental or nonprofit agencies engaged in supporting evacuees.

The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center: Through Sept. 25, donating $1 to the American Red Cross for every ticket of the production of "Satchmo: The Life and Times of Louis Armstrong." The cast also will have collection baskets in the lobby after each show.

Group Donations

Midtown Consulting Group, matching donations up to $250,000.

Walter Industries Inc., matching employee donations earmarked for the American Red Cross 2005 Hurricane Relief Fund. It has raised $50,000.

Prudential Tropical Realty, matching employee cash donations through Oct. 12.

Federated Department Stores Inc., matching donations from customers and employees with a goal of $3 million. Contributions will be evenly split between the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross. Local stores participating include Macy's and David's Bridal. Contributions can be made at www.may-co.com.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will provide a free ticket to any of the team's three preseason games for a minimum donation of $20 to the hurricane relief effort.

Brock Communications will provide housing for Loyola New Orleans University students.

Delta Air Lines' SkyMiles members can donate miles to help send relief workers to devastated areas through its SkyWish program. Donations can be made through delta.bids@delta.comThere is a 5,000-mile minimum donation.

Progress Energy Florida crews have left for Louisiana to help Entergy restore power.

Sweetbay Supermarket and Kash n' Karry will make a $250,000 donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union is donating $100,000 to relief efforts.

Raymond James Financial donated a combined total of $200,000 to the relief efforts of the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

Without Walls International Church has donated $100,000 to FEMA.

Skanska has donated $200,000 to the Red Cross.

BankAtlantic's 78 stores are collecting donations for the American Red Cross. They will contribute the first $100,000.

The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council has pledged a minimum of $2.5 million and will match contributions over the next 60 days.

The Florida Association of Realtors is contributing $150,000 to the three hardest-hit state Realtor associations for recovery needs.

The Greater Tampa Association of Realtors Inc. has created a Web site -- www.HomesForHope.net-- to match hurricane victims with available properties.

The Spring of Tampa Bay has opened its shelter to victims of domestic violence in New Orleans and other Gulf Coast communities.
